GURGAON: A 28-year-old housewife was murdered inside her first-floor house in Maruti Vihar in Sector-29 on Tuesday. Her body was found in a pool of blood inside her bedroom. According to the police, her clothes were found lying nearby.
Investigators said that the deceased, Sweta Singh, had married Karukku Rajan early last year. Sweta was a native of Varansi in UP and her husband belongs to Karnataka. Karukku works as an accountant with a private company in Sushant Lok.
According to Karukkus statement, he had left home about 9.30 am. He had also talked to his wife around 2.30 pm and everything was fine till that time. But when Karukku returned home in the evening around 6.30, he found the main door of his flat open, a police officer said.
He added that Karukku found her bleeding and the police were immediately called. We have registered a case of murder against unknown persons and for destroying the evidence of crime. We are looking into all aspects of the case. The postmortem report is likely to reveal the reason behind the murder, said Sector-29 SHO Jagdish Prasad.
Police officers who rushed to the spot in the evening said that there was no sign of the killer entering the flat forcefully. It seemed as a friendly entry. Someone known to the victim might have committed the crime, said a police official.
