Crime Patrol:Foul murder case of a 5th Class Student in Bind (M.P.)-30 Dec 2011

Bhopal: A CCTV installed at the hostel premises in Bhind district helped police unravel a tragic incident wherein a nine-year-old boy was thrown off the roof by his senior inmate on warden's order. The boy died. The warden had allegedly lured the class 10 student to throw off the boy, promising 80% marks in the final exams.

The blood curdling incident took place at the hostel of Scholars Public School on November 27.

Gaurav Gupta, a class five student, was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Initially, police thought that Gaurav, who hailed from Jalaun (UP), fell to death accidentally. Later examination of CCTV installed at the hostel premises unrevealed the shocking story. The footage showed Gaurav Gupta, apparently asleep, being taken on shoulder towards the roof by his teenaged inmate. Nineteen seconds later, the footage shows the teenager returning without the boy. During interrogation the accused revealed it to police that he was instructed to throw Gaurav off the roof by his warden Ashok Singh.

Ashok Singh and the teenaged accused have been arrested on charges of murder and conspiracy.

Sources said, Gaurav had complained against the warden to his parents after being beaten up badly over silly mischief. The warden, who feared action from the school over injury marks on Gaurav, decided to eliminate him fabricating the case as of an accident.

Police said that the warden was well aware that 16 CCTV cameras were installed at the hostel premises but was under impression that all of them were non-functional. Bhind superintendent of police (SP) Anurag told DNA that the motive behind murder of young child is not clear. "We would be taking the accused on police remand for more details" he said.

  2. not sure about the juvenile; he may be brain washed: but the warden needs to be hanged.
