Nashik, Maharashtra: Two minors found dead in Kasara Ghat section on Mumbai-Agra Highway were on Wednesday identified as siblings belonging to Shah family from Panvel in Raigad district, police said.
The deceased were identified as Janhavi Shah, 12 and her brother Parag Shah, 10, they said.
Their bodies were spotted on Tuesday and are since sent for postmortem.
Police found the address of the family from a debit card found on the deceased.
Police are investigating whether the brother-sister duo were murdered.

Police team in Panvel to probe kids' death
NASHIK: A team of police personnel from Kasara left for Panvel to investigate the mysterious deaths of two children, who were found dead along the Mumbai-Agra national highway on Tuesday morning.
Deputy superintendent of police of Shahapur, Prasant Wagunde said that the bodies had been identified. The girl is identified as Janavhi Nitin Shah (9), while the boy is identified as Parag Nitin Shah (8). The police traced the relatives of the deceased to Panvel, who later identified the bodies.
The father of the kids has been missing and the police are on his track for further investigations as the needle of suspicion points towards him.
On Tuesday at around 8.30 am, the Kasara police received information that two bodies were found lying along the Mumbai-Agra highway near Latifwadi where the road descends the hill through Kasara Ghat towards Mumbai. The police rushed to the incident spot and recovered the bodies.
Assistant Police Inspector Vilash Shende of the Kasara Police Station informed that there were no injury marks of any weapon on the bodies and from the ligature marks on their necks they deduced that the children were strangulated.
Shende added, "We found an ATM card in the pocket of the girl's dress along with her photo and we also recovered another slip of some bank transaction in the pocket of the boy's dress, through which we traced their relatives and contacted them. From the condition of the bodies, it appeared that the kids were killed a few hours before their bodies were discovered."
After rushing the bodies to the primary health centre at Kasara, they were subsequently sent to JJ Hospital for forensic investigation and post mortem.
Meanwhile, DSP Wagunde informed that a team was sent to Panvel to find out with whom the children left their home and how did they arrive in Kasara. Wagunde said the father works in a garment shop in Panvel and ruled out the possibility of the children being kidnapped for ransom.

Panvel father held, doctorss declare him fit after suicide attempt
MUMBAI: The Kasara police arrested Nitin Shah (45), accused of killing his children, late on Saturday after doctors at JJ hospital declared him fit.
Nitin was at JJ hospital under police surveillance for three days. The police were worried that Nitin, who attempted suicide after killing his children, may make a similar attempt in the hospital.
Nitin had been depressed for some time over his wife Sonam's "mental illness" and last weekend, while at home due to the shut-down after Bal Thackeray's death, his despair worsened.
On Monday morning, after informing his wife that he was going to his father's home, he took his children Janhavi (12) and Parag (10) to Igatpuri by bus. On the way back in the evening, Nitin got them to disembark at Kasara ghat and walk into the forests.
It was there, cops said, that Nitin told his children of his desire to kill them as his mother's "illness" had taken a toll on him. However, unable to kill the two as they looked on, he first put them to sleep and early on Tuesday, while Janhavi and Parag were still asleep, he strangulated them. Nitin tried to end his own life with the same cloth, but did not go through with the plan. After wandering in Mumbai trains for two days, he returned to Kasara ghat early on Thursday and slit his wrists. He was discovered by cops who took him to JJ Hospital.
A cop part of the team said that Nitin would be produced in the holiday court on Sunday.
