Crime Patrol: Patiala couple among seven arrested for servant’s murder (Episode 738 on 25th November, 2016)

The police today solved a month-old murder of a domestic help who was shot in the head and buried in a drug de-addiction centre.

Later, acid was poured on him to destroy his corpse and later the grave was dug and the remaining body parts were thrown in the Bhakhra canal to conceal all evidence.

The crime, allegedly committed in a fit of rage, remained a secret among nine persons, including a woman — who is a former model — for over a month.

On June 3, Madhurjeet Sharma alias Mickey was with his wife in his house. He suspected his wife Sonia Sharma of having an illicit relation with their 19-year old domestic help, Anup Kumar.

“Mickey shot Anup in the head and called his friends and employees working in his drug de -addiction centre in Mallomajra village. They had drinks and conspired to get rid of the corpse. For this, they shortlisted an vacant plot near the de-addiction centre. They wrapped the body in a sheet and packed it in a car and dug the grave on June 3,” said SSP Gurmeet Chauhan.

The next day, Mickey kept Anup’s phone in a Delhi-bound bus. “He had done this to ensure that others would know that Anup is not taking calls and his phone records would show that he is traveling”, said CIA incharge Bikram Brar.

“Sonia who works as a teacher in Summer Valley School then called up Anup’s brother Anupam Verma telling him that his brother is missing. On June 12, a missing report was filed by his brother and the phone of his brother was recovered after someone in the bus attended the call. The phone had a few recordings that pointed towards the illicit relations of Sonia with Anup”, said Brar.

Meanwhile, Mickey got suspicious after Anup’s phone was recovered and handed back to him. “He decided to pour acid on the grave of Anup. Later, he dug up the grave on July 2 and threw the body parts in the canal near Passiana. However, we got a tip-off about the crime and we recovered gloves, hair of the victim and five empty acid cans”, said Chauhan.

The police have arrested the couple and five of their accomplices – Yuvraj Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Maninder Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Narinder Singh while two others were evading arrest.
