Around 6pm, neighbours reported a foul smell coming from the house and immediately informed the police. On reaching the spot, police found the body inside the bed box with hands and feet tied up. The body was partially decomposed which indicated that the man had died a few days back, police said.
Initially, the cops could not identify the man because the owner of the house had not got his details registered while renting out the place to him. But later the man was identified as one K K Chopra.
The body has been sent to AIIMS for a postmortem to establish the exact cause of death. Police are also questioning the owner of the house, identified as Nandu, who is a resident of Tughlakabad.
Neighbours added that the man had moved into the house just 2 months back. and used to stay indoors most of the time. They added that they had rarely seen anyone visiting the house.
The investigators are also questioning the neighbours to find out who all had visited the house in the past few days. The CCTV recordings from the nearby houses are also being scanned for this.

Body in bed box: 2 held, search on for woman
Police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old man, whose decomposed body was found in a bed box in a flat in Southeast Delhi.
Police said the man, K K Chopra, allegedly had an affair with the girlfriend of one of the accused. Rocky smothered Chopra to death in his house in Tughlaqabad on July 10. He then wanted a place to dispose of the body and spoke to his friend Rajan. The two decided to hide the body in Rajan's flat in Govindpuri, a police officer said.
The body was discovevred on July 15 after neighbours complained of foul smell inside the house and called police. After the body was identified, police tracked Rajan and Rocky to Bareilly in UP. They were arrested after arriving in Delhi, the officer said.
Police said Chopra allegedly had an affair with Rocky's girlfriend Komal. Komal is also a suspect in the case, but is on the run, police said.
Rocky became suspicious that Komal was meeting Chopra. He confronted Chopra on July 10 and, in a fit of rage, smothered him with duct tape, police said.
According to police, Chopra divorced in 2012. He had a DDA flat in Kalkaji.
A case under sections 302 (murder), 120 A (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (crime committed by persons with common intention) of IPC has been filed against the accused.

Govindpuri murder: Not robbers but sex worker, aides killed businessman
NEW DELHI: The man who was found stuffed inside a box-bed in a flat in Govindpuri on Tuesday has been identified as 54-year-old businessman K K Chopra. Two men have been arrested for their involvement in the incident.
Chopra was found dead on July 15 after his neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from the house. Police initially suspected he was killed by robbers.
On Thursday, police said they had arrested two men-Rajan and Rocky alias Arif-and were trying to trace three others, including a sex worker.
Six teams led by Govindpuri SHO Sunil Kumar questioned several sex workers and youths in the area and zoomed in on the duo following a tip-off.
During interrogation, the accused said they killed Chopra on July 10 and had were looking for a chance to dispose the body but police arrived before that.
Rajan said he had introduced Chopra to a sex worker called Komal and had even got him the flat. Rocky, Komal's boyfriend, said he had become possessive because of the growing proximity between Komal and Chopra. Financial crunch, an evil mind and possessiveness led Komal and Rocky to plan to eliminate Chopra and usurp his money.
On July 10, Komal made Chopra tell her his ATM PIN while they were in bed. An hour later, Rocky, Rajan and two others landed up at the flat and began arguing with Chopra. Rocky asked Chopra if he had relations with Komal and when he nodded in the affirmative, Rocky thrashed Chopra and tied him up with a rope. Rajan allegedly taped Chopra's mouth and nose, after which they stuffed him in the box-bed, where Chopra choked to death. They also smothered him to ensure he was dead, police said. The accused later withdrew thousands from an ATM using Chopra's card and fled to UP.
Chopra, police said, was a divorcee. He earlier lived in E block in GK-II but had sold off the flat to a builder and shifted to the DDA flats in Kalkaji. His wife has alleged he was a womanizer which had even led to their divorce. She got custody of their two children-one is in Bangalore and the other is in the US.
Chopra's family has refused to accept his body for conducting last rites.
DCP (southeast) P Karunakaran said a case of murder and destruction of evidence has been registered.
