The Accused: Woman accused landlord for raping her (Episode 335 on 31 Jan 2014)







The Inside Story
Taking advantage of a lonely woman tenant in the house, the landlord raped her inside the house on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested the accused.



A 33- year- old woman reached Palasia police station and lodged complaint against landlord Rupkishor Agrawal (48), alleging that he raped her when her husband had gone for work and kids were in school.

"The woman who works at an educational institute lodged a complaint against her landlord alleging rape inside her house around 9.30 am" SP East OP Tripathi claimed.



Agrawal is a resident of Shubh Labh Residency situated at Khajrana Square. The woman is staying as a tenant of his house in Mahadev Totla Nagar. The accused had gone on some pretext and took advantage of her loneliness.



Police registered a case of rape against the accused and arrested him.



However, it was also suspected that there may some dispute between landlord and tenant over rent or vacating house.



This was the third rape reported during last 24 hours in different areas of the city. A 16 years old girl was also raped in the house of a youth in Chandan Nagar area and police had arrested the accused Matin after residents of the locality protested at police station on Tuesday.

4 Year RI for false rape complainant

A local court on Monday sentenced a woman to four year rigorous imprisonment for lodging a false complaint against her landlord who could not endure the trauma and committed suicide later after being released from jail.



Additional sessions judge Indira Singh convicted Chanchal, wife of Sunil Rathaur, for filing a false complaint of rape against landlord Rupkishor Agrawal and blackmailing him to grab his house and other valuables.



The court found Chanchal guilty under Sections 182 (false information with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to the injury of another person) and 211(false complaint to the police, thereby committing offences) and sentenced her to 4 years rigorous imprisonment. The court also slapped Rs 10,000 fine on her.



Special public prosecutor Ravindra Desai told dna that according to provision court pronounces half period of the



jail term to the accused under



the above sections of the total period of punishment in that particular crime.

'Falsely implicated' rape accused hangs himself



A middle-aged rape accused on Sunday hanged self from the ceiling of his house in Ganesh Dham in Palasia area, leaving a suicide note that blamed his tenant couple for falsely implicating him in the crime.

Rupkishor Agrawal, 48, a resident of Shubh Labh Residency in Goyal Nagar, had gone to the house lying vacant early in the morning.



His wife Manju and only daughter Shivani called him on mobile phone but got no response. Panicked, they went to the house which was locked from inside. They peeped through a window and were shocked to see Rupkishore hanging from the ceiling in a room. He was immediately taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.



A suicide note written by Agrawal was recovered from the spot. He mentioned that he was ending his life because his tenant Chanchal and her husband Sunil Rathaur had falsely implicated him in rape case.

Rupkishor was arrested on the complaint of Chanchal of Mahadev Totla Nagar that he raped her when she was alone in her house in the morning of December 26 last year.



Rupkishor was arrested and sent to jail. He was released on bail on March 8 and was under deep depression since then. He was an RTO agent and also used to deal in real estate business. A case was registered under section 174 of CrPC at Khajrana police station.
