Mumbai woman held for forcing sister into flesh trade
It’s a revolting tale of betrayal where a woman has pushed her own sibling – a minor, into prostitution. The Malwani police in city’s western suburb Malad have held this 25-year-old woman, Firdosh Khan, on Thursday for pushing her 12-year-old sister into prostitution.
It’s a harrowing saga of dread, deception, defiance and a pathogenic disrespect for women’s modesty as Mohammad Irfan - the woman’s husband, has also been arrested for raping the minor at his home in his wife’s absence.
According to Malwani police, Khan had visited her home at Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh, two months back, and promised her elder brother that she will look well to their younger sibling and ensure the best education for her in Mumbai. Once, she brought the girl to Mumbai, she confined her to her residence, where her husband raped the victim frequently. Later, she forced her into prostitution.
Fortunately, the victim informed her brother two days ago for help, who informed his friend in Mumbai. The friend hinted the police and rescued the girl from their dragnet. The couple has been remanded to police custody till Monday, sources informed.
